Особое мероприятие в виннипежских пиццериях: пицца в обмен на старый "мобильник"

Сеть пиццерий Pizza проводит особую акцию: посетители смогут получить бесплатную пиццу в обмен на старые электронные приборы. Мероприятие будет проходить на протяжении апреля в 365 филиалах ресторана в Виннипеге, а также в различных городах провинций Онтарио и Реджайны.

В качестве платы за пиццу в ресторанах будут приниматься мобильные телефоны, смартфоны, фотоаппараты, планшетные компьютеры (таблеты) и плееры. Вся прибыль от утилизации электроники будет передана в благотворительный фонд Продовольственного банка Канады.

В рамках акций по сбору электроники для утилизации в обмен на пиццу, которые Pizza проводит с 2004 года, у населения было собрано свыше 5600 бывших в употреблении электронных устройств.

Виннипег – город богатых "мужчин-спонсоров"

Согласно опросу, проведенному сайтом SeekingArrangement.com, Виннипег вошел в десятку канадских городов, в которых проживает больше всего так называемых "папиков" – поклонников молодых девушек модельной внешности и обладателей толстых кошельков. Выяснилось также, что в столице Манитобы на 1000 взрослых мужчин приходится 1.06 "папиков".

По данным опроса, средний возраст богатого любовника составляет 38 лет. Это означает, что термин "папик" в наши дни уже не соответствует образу пожилого богатого мужчины. Так называемый "спонсор" тратит на свою возлюбленную в среднем 4307 долларов в месяц, что составляет 19 процентов от его заработной платы. Число "папиков", связавших себя узами брака, снизилось с 46% до 31% по сравнению с 2007 годом.

Вот навскидку подряд три объявления вроде по специальности CNC. Я мало в этом понимаю, и в специфике не разбираюсь, но это то что сразу выползло на страничку.

Winpak's manufacturing facility located in San Bernardino, California is currently searching to fill the position of:
CNC Machinist
Responsible for setting up and and running Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) metal working machines. Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain facility machinery.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

1. Responsible for all activities involving fabricating, inspecting, deburring parts for capital equipment machinery.

a. Computes with machine indexing and settings for specified dimension and base reference points.
b. Sets-up and operates CNC Mills and or Lathes to perform diversified machining operations.
c. Follows pre-determined procedures, mounts holding fixtures and cutters, loads program taps or electronically transfers programs and makes specified control settings.
d. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
e. Changes set- ups and cutters/tools as required.
f. Sets and adjusts speed, feeds and depth of cut to machine parts to specifications set forth in blueprints and drawings.
g. Verfies starting materials are adequate prior to beginning to work.
h. Responsible for quality of the finished product or services outlined above.
i. Make recommendations, as needed, to other machinists as to possible solutions to machining problems.
j. Will conduct in-process inspections to verify that all quality standards are being maintained.
k. Move incoming/outgoing material within the department.

2. Enforce ALL Company safety rules and safe work practices.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required To
Perform the Essential job functions

1. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
2. Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required.
3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
4. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
5. Experience using one or more of the following tools: Lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw.
6. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
7. Ability to work in a team environment.

Under supervision and within the policies, standards and procedures of the Royal Canadian Mint; sets-up, operates, maintains machining equipment to fabricate and repair production equipment tooling and equipment parts. Fabricates and repairs tooling to a high degree of precision and to drawing specifications. Repairs and assembles manufacturing machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Previous Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must possess a Valid Manitoba or Inter-Provincial Journeyman Machinist certificate.
Experience using GibbsCAM software.



Knowledge:
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and superior fabrication skills.



Abilities and Skills:
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, identifying practical solutions, and providing clear recommendations.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including ability to co-operate with supervisors and colleagues and ability to foster relationships with other employees to enhance the team environment.
Ability to set-up, operate, program and maintain various machining equipment to manufacture tooling and parts to close tolerances and to a high degree of precision.

Ability to work from mechanical drawings, conduct regular preventative maintenance on machine shop tools and equipment.

В последнем предложении о работе вроде предлагают от 14 до 18. Думаю что примерно в этих пределах вначале, а потом может и выше. Я не знаю как насчет быстро, но у меня была пара знакомых, работающих на станках cnc.

День Виктории: развлечения в Виннипеге

20 мая канадцы будут праздновать День Виктории. Праздник будет совмещен с выходными, чтобы у жителей страны была возможность отдохнуть на протяжении трех дней. В Виннипеге во время "длинного уикенда" пройдут развлекательные мероприятия для жителей города.

В художественной галерее Манитобского музея пройдет выставка "100 художников", в рамках которой будут представлены работы таких великих мастеров, как Ван-Гог, Моне, Рембрандт, Пикассо и многих других. Музей будет работать в выходные дни.

Посетив старинный железнодорожный вокзал Prairie Dog Central Railway в воскресенье утром, 19 мая, вы сможете прокатиться на паровозе и стать героем настоящего вестерна. Во время прогулки на поезд нападет банда вооруженных головорезов на лошадях и ограбит пассажиров. Поезд отправится в путь в 11 утра. The pool complex covers an area of more than 13 acres and the museum includes items dating back to over 5,000 years including a Pre-Columbian merman, a 1st Century B.C. Greco-Roman Strigil, copies of Olympic medals of 240 A.D. to recent ones of Canadians Sasa (Alex) Baumann and Sylvie Bernier. Artifacts, memorabilia, oil painting and poster displays are worth millions of dollars. The Aquatic Hall of Fame pays tribute to competitors in swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming. It also houses the famous Cutty Sark collection. Open: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Free admission.

Dalnavert Museum (Dtn)

The house is both a Provincial and National Historic Site. It was built in 1895 in the Queen Anne Revival style of architecture and is furnished with period furnishings. The original owner of "Dalnavert" was Sir Hugh John Macdonald (son of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first Prime Minister), Premier of Manitoba in 1900 and a Police Magistrate from 1911 until his death in 1929. Costumed guides tour visitors through the museum explaining about the original family, the memorabilia in each room and the restoration. This unique cultural facility combines a museum, art gallery, library, archives, education facility and a boutique. The art gallery has a permanent collection of Ukrainian fine art and also rotates exhibits by local, Ukrainian, Canadian and other artists. Located at the Minto Armoury, Manitoba's most famous Scottish Regiment first raised in 1910. Riel House is managed and operated for Parks Canada by La Société historique de Saint-Boniface. Visitors will learn about the cultural, social and economic aspects of the Metis as well as the life of the Riel and Lagimodière families in the 1880's. Built in 1854 of Red River frame log construction, Ross House became the first Post Office west of the Great Lakes. Located in Point Douglas/Joe Zuken Heritage Park, the museum's interpretive displays include period furnished rooms depicting the daily life of the Red River Settlement, the pioneer Ross family, and early postal service. St. Boniface Museum (SE)

In the oldest building in the City of Winnipeg, erected for the Grey Nuns in 1846, also the largest oak log building in North America and also the first institutional building in Western Canada. The museum's displays interpret Metis, French-Canadian, and Missionary life on the prairies. The museum is open year-round and has special programs during the January Festival du Voyageur
St. Norbert Provincial Heritage Park (SW)

Features log and frame homes characteristic of this early French-Canadian settlement, two of which have been restored to period. Offers self-guiding trail and guided tours of pree-1900 Bohemier and Turenne French-Canadian homes, with an interpretation of lifestyles and area history. Season: June to September. Park closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Admission free.

Seven Oaks House Museum (NW)

The oldest habitable home in Manitoba, built in 1851 by John Inkster. It was constructed of oak logs on a stone foundation, with buffalo hair to bind the plaster, and contains period furniture and household articles of the original occupants. The Seven Oaks Memorial honours Governor Robert Semple and 20 Selkirk settlers slain in the Battle of Seven Oaks in 1816. Open last weekend in May until Labour Day daily 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission charge.

Housed in a 1925 bank building which became the Transcona Municipal Office, the Museum displays present community history, the railroad industry, pioneer life, native cultures, and the area's natural history. Assiniboine Forest (SW)
Located on Grant Avenue between Chalfont Road and Shaftesbury Boulevard.
This 680 acre oak & aspen forest is the largest urban nature park in Canada (Vancouver's Stanley Park is larger, but is mostly developed parkland not in its natural state). This forest is criss-crossed by 3 kilometres of trails so you can explore the home to more that 39 mammal species, including deer and fox, and more than 80 bird species. One trail leads to Eve Werier pond, a 1970s Ducks Unlimited project to create a nesting habitat for waterfowl. Open daily sunrise to sunset. Free admission.

This park was built to help preserve the rich heritage of the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Forces, with 14 aircraft on display. A monument honours the ground crew and other support personnel who have served in the Forces. Canadian Forces ircraft on display include an F-86 Sabre, CF-100 Canuck, CF-101 Voodoo, CF-104 Starfighter, CF-5 Freedom Fighter, CH-136 Kiowa helicopter, DC-Dakota, Harvard Trainer and a CP-121 Tracker. Open daily to the public year-round. Free admission.

Assiniboine Park (SW)

This 153 hectare (378 acre) park lies on the south shore of the Assiniboine River. The park includes Winnipeg's only cricket field, a miniature railway, Zoo, Conservatory, the English Gardens, Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, Tudor-style Pavilion, and a French formal garden. Picnic areas, cycling or walking trails are popular with visitors and citizens. In the winter, there is cross-country skiing, tobogganing and skating on the Duck Pond. Free admission.

Bonnycastle Park (Dtn)
Assiniboine Avenue, between Main Street and Donald Street
The park is named in honour of the Winnipeg family who founded the Harlequin Romance publishing empire. The park includes an amphitheatre, ornamental flower bed, an extensive pathway system and an ornamental fountain. The park has access to the Assiniboine Riverwalk, connected to the Forks and the Legislature.

The Forks is a 56 acre waterfront redevelopment project, located behind the Union Station at the junction of the Assiniboine and Red Rivers in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. The historic site marks the gathering spot of people for over 6,000 years. Many seasonal festivals, cultural and recreational events are featured on the site. Riverside walkways provide great well-lit views of the City. The Forks Market, housed in refurbished historic stables, features fresh foods, ethnic and specialty items, crafts and specialty retail shops as well as summer-time patio dining alongside the riverside Plaza. The Forks Historic Port offers free casual docking, a water bus service, rowboat, canoe and sea cycle rentals, and sailing instruction. In winter, there's a circular outdoor skating rink, toboggan slides, and the River Trail for skating and skiing (with a huge gas fireplace to warm up).

The complex is part of Kil-Cona Park, nestled on a lakeshore. It offers 9 hole, par 27 golfing, a golf driving range, miniature golf, tennis courts, paddle boat rentals, shuffleboards, horseshoe pits, and a creative playground. Also available are the pro shop, restaurant, classroom and banquet room facilities. In the winter time, the fireplace and restaurant warm those who come to toboggan, cross­country ski or skate on the lake.

This lovely 40 hectare (100 acre) park off Main Street North is an unusual and relatively unchanged place since the early days of settlement, with some of the oldest and largest trees still standing in the province. A modern pavilion building includes a fine restaurant and washroom facilities. The park also has an outdoor swimming pool and a summer theatre, Rainbow Stage as well as a model of the Witch's House from the fairytale Hansel and Gretel. In winter, there are facilities for ice skating, cross-country skiing and tobogganing. Open 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Gates close at 10:00 p.m.
